Amazing local sushi joint. We recently switched from our regular sushi joint of 20+ years after trying Kanpachi. I waited to visit two times, months apart before doing a review. WOW we love this place! Fish is so fresh. They have a wide variety to choose from. Service is friendly. You can tell just by observing the other customers that this place has a bunch of regulars. The one draw back is the limited seating. During busy time, you may have to wait outside, not for terribly long (we waited maybe 15-20 min at peak on a Saturday). The neighborhood is fine though and it's well worth the wait. Try this place!! BYOB too!

I absolutely love trying small sushi spots in different cities and Kanpachi won't be forgotten! This place is in a very quaint location and has a very cozy atmosphere. Staff greeted us with kindness and were very attentive during our visit. We even were given a "house special" sample before our meal. The sushi was incredible and reasonably priced. If I'm ever back in the Woodbridge/Edison area, I will definitely make time to stop back in. The mural on tbe side of the building was absolutely gorgeous as well 💜 **Rolls from top to bottom: Godzilla roll, Edison roll, & Captains roll 😋

We were able to get a large platter of Sushi and Sashimi delivered at home, it was one of the best selection of various rolls from Tuna, Avocado and Salmon and vegetable, spicy and normal both. Everything arrived neatly packaged, with care taken to keep the fish fresh and the presentation intact. The quality of the fish stood out right away—fresh, clean flavors with a smooth, buttery texture, especially in the salmon and tuna. The assortment felt thoughtfully put together, offering a nice variety without being repetitive. It felt like a restaurant-quality experience at home, which is exactly what you hope for when ordering something as delicate as sushi. While it’s a bit of a splurge, the freshness, quality, and care in packaging make it worth it for a special night in.

Now that I've changed up my eating routine I tend to visit this special place at least 3x a month. The food is phenomenal. Not like the typical Chinese food most ppl are use to ordering. The food here is prepared with admiration to the ppl who are going to consume it. It is fresh food with anything you choose here. Love this spot, it's definitely a good to when asian food is on my mind.

This is a little gem of a sushi place. It is small, but doesn’t feel crowded and the service is impeccable. We were immediately seated and the service was on point and the interactions did not feel rushed. While there we noticed two sets of regulars that the staff knew and there were smiles all around. The sushi was good, the quality top notch and it was prepared nicely. Skilled chefs. The ramen and edamame were just the way I liked it. Overall, when we are in the area again, we will check it out. Note, there is outdoor seating for when the weather is nicer, however street parking may be difficult to find (there is a lot around back which I believe can be used by restaurant patrons).
